| Also attending B.J.C. (M.A.C.) Anglia Region Closed Championships yesterday was Ellie Rodd. Once again she was the lowest grade in her group but didn't let that put her off, forcing both her opponents into golden score extra time. In her first contest, Ellie was only seconds away from winning on the judges decision, but was thrown for a Yoko score. Ellie missed out in here second contest but made her opponent work hard for the win. Well done to Ellie who achieve a bronze medal for her efforts. |

| Chris Abel achieved his first gold medal of the year at the B.J.C. (M.A.C.) Anglia Region Closed Championships which took place yesterday. He dominated the group winning each of his contests with an Ippon maximum score. After a few initial attacks, Chris won his first contest with an Uchi Mata, throwing his opponent flat onto their back. In his second contest, after a few exchanges of grips and minor attacks, Chris was thrown for a Waza Ari score. He kept battling on, finally throwing this opponent for another Ippon scoring Uchi Mata, which many of the officials said was the throw of the day.
